Browsing through the collected works of Hugo Matthysen
HURORAM! is the latest project by Hugo Matthysen, Ronny Mosuse and Aram Van Ballaert. A trio that is best known as Clement Peerens Explosition. But in this show no Antwerp dialect will be spoken and it will – dixit Matthysen – be “a little more civilized”, or is that a tautology? Anyway: expect a kind of ‘collected work of Matthysen’: songs for his bands, but also for plays, television programs etc. (crude)

Hugs from rocker Strand Of Oaks
Last year Tim Showalter played aka Strand Of Oaks another monumental show at the new festival Hear Hear on the meadow of Pukkelpop. Now he returns to Limburg for a hall concert. On January 26 he will perform solo in C-mine Genk. You know what to expect: fantastic songs and almost certainly at the end of the concert a lot of hugs from his nice sweaty beard. The promising Hasselt singer-songwriter Caspar Auwerkerken is the supporting act. (crude)

dEUS, The Waterboys, Noordkaap, Warhaus… in Maastricht
No concerts in Muziekodroom for now, it’s still a shame. We peek over the border nearby and see a lot of beautiful names in De Muziekgieterij in Maastricht. Such as: Merol, Altin Gün, Warhaus (photo), The Orb, Noordkaap and dEUS. And that’s just a small selection. Check that trade. (crude)

The Zillion is coming to Hasselt
As if the Zillion never left… That’s what it feels like after Robin Pront’s extremely successful film. The aftershocks can be felt in numerous parties. Also in Hasselt. On February 24 and 25, Zillion – The Club will be in the Versuz. “We are opening up the entire site, good for 3,300 visitors,” says Yves Smolders of Versuz. “Frank Verstraeten is going to add extra light and sound and he will bring original decor and interior pieces.” Where were those Buffalos again? Jan Decleir, serial killer
Not a new show, but still interesting: Henri-Désiré Landru was a French serial killer who murdered at least 11 women – but possibly many, many more, possibly 283 victims – and disposed of the remains in his kitchen oven. In 1921 he was convicted in Paris. Decleir tells the story including black humor, the musical accompaniment is provided by I SOLISTI and Vlaams Radiokoor.(crude)

Stef Kamil plays Dylan
Allow us to occasionally question our bald spot scream with the oversupply of tribute bands these days, but despite the fact that nobody sings Dylan like Dylan without fear or doubt we head for a show in which Stef Kamil Carlens sings the songs of Bawb sings. He takes clean people with him.(crude)

The latest Marble Sounds as it should be: with strings
Heaped with praise: the fifth album Marble Sounds released in September 2022. Frontman Pieter Van Dessel travels to ccHA with 14 musicians and together they play the new songs as intended: including the violins and cellos of Casco Phil and a disc keyboard, a piano that can also play itself. Whether he also gets royalties and a bottle of wine in the backstage is another question.(crude)

Stijn Van de Voorde honors musical ladies
Why was rock and roll invented by a woman? Who is the real Queen of rock ‘n’ roll? Why were female guitarists only allowed to wear bikinis on the cover of guitar magazines? Is Billie Eilish the Kurt Cobain of this century? These are questions that Stijn Van De Voorde wants to answer in his new show ‘For Those About to Rock More’, in which he emphasizes female artists. It’s about time: the end-of-year lists have clearly been dominated by the ladies.(crude)
