Little by little we learn more about the launch of the new streaming service SkyShowtime. In the run-up to next week’s Dutch premiere (Tuesday, October 25, 2022), the company officially announced today what the price of a subscription and which films and series are in the offer will be found. Also, the Dutch trailer online and it was announced that the service will be available immediately on launch day via Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, Android TV, Google TV and LG TV.
SkyShowtime subscription price announced yesterday, confirmed today
Coincidentally, after a news tip yesterday with the editors of Streamwijzer, we already found out what the price of a subscription to SkyShowtime in the Netherlands will be. Due to the conditions of a promotion, it turned out that a membership here €6.99 per month will cost. This morning, however, this was also officially confirmed by the video on demand platform in a press release.
What more is not yet known about, however, is the possible 50% lifetime discount. After it was previously done in the Netherlands by HBO Max, this promotion was also put live in the first four European countries of the streaming service: Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The early decision makers can temporarily take out a subscription for half the price. It is currently unknown whether this will also be the case in the Netherlands, but in a response to questions from our editors, a spokesperson made it clear that we have a similar solution in the Netherlands. “competitive” can expect surprise at a “exceptional price”. Exciting!
First glimpse into the Dutch range of films and series at SkyShowtime
This morning’s press release also showed that we already have a first insight into the range of movies and series to get. This includes content from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, SHOWTIME, Sky Studios and Peacock. In our overview of the SkyShowtime offer, we have already made available a list of the expected titles on the video on demand platform, but now the first components have also been officially confirmed. The moment of availability differs per film or series, as indicated in the second column of the table below.
