Little by little we learn more about the launch of the new streaming serviceSkyShowtime. In the run-up to next week’s Dutch premiere (Tuesday, October25, 2022), the company officially announced today what the price of asubscription and which films and series are in the offer will be found.Also, the Dutch trailer online and it was announced that the service willbe available immediately on launch day via Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices,Android TV, Google TV and LG TV.
SkyShowtime subscription price announced yesterday, confirmed today
Coincidentally, after a news tip yesterday with the editors of Streamwijzer,we already found out what the price of a subscription to SkyShowtime in theNetherlands will be. Due to the conditions of a promotion, it turned out thata membership here €6.99 per month will cost. This morning, however, thiswas also officially confirmed by the video on demand platform in a pressrelease.
What more is not yet known about, however, is the possible 50% lifetimediscount. After it was previously done in the Netherlands by HBO Max, thispromotion was also put live in the first four European countries of thestreaming service: Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The early decisionmakers can temporarily take out a subscription for half the price. It iscurrently unknown whether this will also be the case in the Netherlands, butin a response to questions from our editors, a spokesperson made it clear thatwe have a similar solution in the Netherlands. “competitive” can expectsurprise at a “exceptional price”. First glimpse into the Dutch range of films and series at SkyShowtime
This morning’s press release also showed that we already have a first insightinto the range of movies and series to get. This includes content fromUniversal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation,Paramount+, SHOWTIME, Sky Studios and Peacock. In our overview of theSkyShowtime offer, we have already made available a list of the expectedtitles on the video on demand platform, but now the first components have alsobeen officially confirmed. The moment of availability differs per film orseries, as indicated in the second column of the table below.
