It has shocked and saddened me beyond belief to see that themedia has turned my family’s tragedy into a tall tale . Since Jason’s death, Ihave been harassed online and can no longer stand to watch my husband’s goodname slandered.”

“I loved my husband, and we were trying to work through our problems. Hisdeath comes as much a shock to me as anyone else,” she continues. “The truthis, I had no idea that Jason was thinking of ending things. Yes, he hadstruggled with mental health issues and depression before, but I could neverpredict what would happen that night.”

Continuing her statement, Tammie recalls what happened on the evening on Nov.19, shortly after “reconciling our relationship.”

“We initially planned to separate; that part is true. However, that is onlypart of the story. The part that hasn’t been told is that at the time of hispassing, we had called off our separation and were in the process orreuniting,” she notes. “Don’t get me wrong, we had ups and downs and manytroubles during our 19-year marriage, but this was an especially hard year forus.”

“A year ago, my daughter Shayla, whom Jason helped me raise as his own, suddenly passed away. Jason had been the one to find her when it happened, andthe situation wrecked our family emotionally,” she shares. “Between losing herand helping raise her baby son, Jason and I started having marital issues. Foranyone who has known the pain of losing a child, I know you understand howsuch a loss changes things in your marriage.”

She also admits they received a noise complaint from hotel guests that night, but clarifies it was due to “us enjoying the weekend and having some fun – notarguing or fighting.”

“We danced and stayed out at the event until the bar closed. When we got backto the hotel, Jason and I were having a heartfelt and emotional talk in hisroom,” she recalls. “To help Jason relax and sober up before turning down tosleep, I went downstairs to get us snacks from the lobby. I must’ve been goneno more than 10 minutes. I went back upstairs and began knocking on the doorto no answer . I knocked repeatedly and kept calling for his name to open thedoor.”

“I don’t know if the hotel staff or a guest called the police, but after I wastaken downstairs by the police, they were able to open the door and found thatJason took his life,” she continues. “These were the ‘disturbances’ that hasbeen brought up numerous times online.”

Dirt-cheap phone with your subscription? These providers offer the best end-of-year discounts (and they really are that interesting) | Black Friday

MytelcoWe are in the last weeks of 2022 and that means that interestingdiscounts can be scored from telecom providers, including on subscriptions andsmartphones. From Black Friday until after the end of the year, it’s worthtaking a look. Mijntelco.be went looking for the best deals and tells you whatyou should take into account.

By Felix Ferret, in collaboration with Mijntelco 01-12-22, 11:01

Latest update: 11:30 Source: Mijntelco.be

The end-of-year discounts often take the form of smartphone deals, where youreceive a smartphone device as a gift with your subscription or can buy it fora small price. But providers also offer interesting discounts on many otherdevices, such as TVs, laptops, tablets and smartwatches. In addition, you canoften also take advantage of discounts on bundles. We list some interestingdeals and explain what you should look out for.

Is it beneficial to buy a cheap smartphone with a subscription? Check outthese points of interest.

Smartphones at bargain prices

Smartphone deals can be found on the homepages of the mobile providers justabout everywhere these days. For example, Telenet offers an Apple iPhone 11(64 GB) for 199 euros instead of 529 euros. But the promo for a Samsung GalaxyA53 (128 GB) and a Galaxy Watch4 for a combined price of 199 euros instead of538 euros also catches the eye. The promo applies to Telenet customers, new orexisting, who opt for a ONE bundle, or to customers who decide to upgradetheir ONE subscription to ONE UP.

Orange goes a step further and offers smartphones from 9 euros, some even from1 euro. You must choose a Smart Data subscription of 15 euros per month for 24months, on top of a subscription of 21 euros per month.

Are you switching to a new provider? This way you can keep your mobilenumber in 3 simple steps.

Calculation is the message

If you want to purchase a smartphone device linked to a subscription fromProximus, it is best to do some calculations. Take the Samsung Galaxy S22Ultra, which normally costs 1,199.99 euros without a subscription. If you arenot yet a Proximus customer, you can get the device for 199 euros, togetherwith a Mobilus M subscription of 26.99 euros per month. In addition, you alsohave to take out a DataPhone subscription with 3.5 GB of 35 euros per month.

Total cost: 61.99 euros per month. Anyone who terminates the subscriptionwithin 24 months owes the residual value of the device. In other words, youdon’t get the benefit out of it.

Promotions with bundles

Those who opt for a bundle can also enjoy a few promos this year. For example,Proximus offers the Flex pack for EUR 78.99 per month. It includes unlimitedinternet, a mobile Flex S subscription (unlimited calling, texting and 5 GBdata) and television via the decoder. Those who choose it can also get aSamsung 55-inch smart TV for an extra 99 euros and also enjoy freeinstallation.

Telenet is also putting forward a number of bundle promotions, such as’punishing internet and TV for a great price’. This comes in the form of EasyInternet and Telenet TV for 45 euros per month for three months, instead of57.68 euros. With many bundles you currently also enjoy free activation.

With the Orange Love Pack (Duo or Trio) you can save up to 23 euros today. Forinternet, TV and a mobile subscription you pay 18 euros per month during thefirst three months if you choose Love now. That amounts to a benefit of 54euros. New Orange customers can also benefit from half-price internet forthree months if they sign up for the Love Mobile + Internet subscription.

Fine print

The disadvantage of bundled sales is that you are stuck with your subscriptionfor 12 to 24 months. That is quite a long time, especially in times of rapidlychanging rates. So don’t just be tempted by a new device, but take a moment tocalculate the full cost.

You have to take everything into account: how much the device costs new, whatthe discount price is, how much you have to pay monthly for the correspondingsubscription and for how many months, and what the remaining costs are if youcancel the subscription early.

An additional disadvantage is that you cannot choose the subscription thatsuits you best. You can only do that after 12 or 24 months. If you cancel yoursubscription earlier, the smartphone will remain yours, but you will have topay a cancellation fee. The amount is calculated on the basis of thedifference between the original price of the device and your discount price.

Health Council wants to limit music to 100 decibels against hearing damage | Music

Music only needs to be amplified to a maximum of 100 decibels during concertsand parties. The Health Council advises this on Wednesday to the cabinet, which is concerned about the increasing hearing damage in our country. Therecommended limit is 3 decibels less than has now been agreed.

The Health Council believes that it will not be possible to prevent hearingdamage if music venues, among other things, decide for themselves how loud themusic is. That is why the cabinet should also think about legislation, theadvisory body believes.

The Health Council has laid down the limit in the Covenant for the Preventionof Hearing Damage Amplified Music, to which organizers of events and musicvenues, among others, are affiliated. The current agreement expires next year. The Council proposes involving more parties in the covenant.

Hearing loud noises frequently or for prolonged periods can lead to hearingdamage. This can happen, for example, at concerts and via your own equipmentsuch as earplugs. Dutch research shows that about 54 percent of twelve toeighteen-year-olds are currently at risk.

By reducing music by 3 decibels, the pressure on the hearing organ isconsiderably reduced. In that case, people can tolerate pressure on thehearing for longer without too much risk of damage. In the meantime, they canstill enjoy the music with 3 decibels less.

According to a manufacturer of hearing protection, the noise level of 100decibels is comparable to the sound of a fighter jet at a height of 300meters. At 105 decibels, the noise level is comparable to a helicopter upclose.

Music venues doubt the usefulness of lower noise levels

The Association of Dutch Poppodia and Festivals (VNPF) doubts whether thesocial problem of increasing hearing damage can be solved by lowering thenoise level in that sector. This is what director Berend Schans says inresponse to the advice of the Health Council.

He points out that children also suffer from hearing damage. “The hearingdamage that is diagnosed in eight and nine-year-olds is not because of us.”The VNPF director prefers a broader approach to the problem. For examplethrough campaigns, such as those against mobile phone calls behind the wheelor against drinking alcohol by minors.

Schans adds that even a lower noise level is not without risk. “There could bea kind of atmosphere where visitors think: it’s safe now, so I don’t needhearing protection. As a result, they are still at risk.”

Measure offers no guarantee against hearing damage

The proposed measure does not offer a full guarantee against hearing damage. But every measure that contributes to reducing pressure on the hearing canreduce the risk of permanent hearing damage, says the Health Council.

The Council also wants to prevent the risk of damage to hearing by encouraginghearing protection. Knowledge Center SafetyNL agrees. “Where possible, thisadvice should certainly be followed, but this possible reduction alone isinsufficient. Earplugs or other ways to protect the ears must reduce the noiseby at least 12 decibels,” says the knowledge center.

According to the advisory body, more information should also be provided aboutthe consequences of too much noise for hearing. “Hearing damage isirreversible and untreatable and therefore has a major impact on people’squality of life.”

The right idea

The presenter was seen from 2005 to 2015 as an announcer at One. She was alsoone of the faces of ‘Vlaanderen Vakantieland’ and presented, among otherthings, ‘De Nudekalender’ on One and ‘De Pretshow’ on Ketnet. She recentlymade the program ‘Op de man af’ for the public broadcaster, in which she tookon a sporting challenge against a male opponent every week, and ‘Saar in theforest’, in which she tried to survive in the forest for three weeks.

Earlier this year she released the book ‘Nooit meer tired’. In an interviewwith NINA about the book, she said that she had just recorded a talk show forProximus Pickx. “In it I talk to two well-known guests. I am also still activeat VRT. But I am not waiting for them to come up with something,” saidVandendriessche. “I develop things myself such as ‘Saar in the woods’ and’True to man’. I just haven’t found the right idea yet. But I still like doingTV. I know what I am very good at. And my stories have not yet been told.” Herage didn’t matter, she thought. “People sometimes dare to say that: ‘You areapproaching fifty’ – but so what? They question the combination of that age ontelevision. That’s their opinion. It’s up to me to fight against that.”

Thomas

Tomas De Soete, TV maker and radio voice, also no longer works for the publicbroadcaster. That news was confirmed to our editors. De Soete made a name forhimself as a presenter at Studio Brussel, and later made several VRT programs, such as ‘Fiskepark’.

If you have the label’announcer’, you are sometimes treated stepmotherly. Executives who think:what is this TV presenter telling me here? But then I hold on. I bite intothat and stay positive.”

A few months ago she said that she absolutely did not miss her televisionwork. “I don’t dislike it and I’ve had twenty fantastic years, but it offeredtoo little substance, I thought. One of my best experiences was ‘FataMorgana’, although I don’t think the program would work now. Then there wereno social media and we could work for a week without much leaking, “she saidin Day All. In the same interview, she also talked about turning fifty. “Thatsounds cool to me,” he said. “As an 18-year-old, I had a hard time when peoplesaid that my student days were the best of my life. ‘Wow, will things godownhill for the next eighty years?’ That cliché is wrong.
